  • Prior to obtaining a law degree Cynthia Waldt received an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Minnesota.

  • Cynthia Waldt has been successfully practicing law since 1999.  She began her career as a Public Defender, first in Ramsey County and then in Olmstead County.  As a Public Defender Ms. Waldt worked diligently defending people charged with many different kinds of criminal offenses.  She has an outstanding record of successful litigation and trial wins. 
  • Cynthia Waldt was admitted to practice in Federal Court in 2002 and has practiced in United States District Court in Minnesota and in other areas around the United States.
  • Beginning in 2002, Ms. Waldt practiced civil law in sex offense cases.  She worked both in Minnesota and in several other states as an expert in sex offense cases.  As a part of that work Ms. Waldt practiced Appellate law and argued cases in Appellate and Supreme Courts.
  • Cynthia Waldt has been in private practice as a criminal defense attorney since 2007.
  • Before becoming an attorney Cynthia Waldt was employed as a police dispatcher.  Working for a police department gave Ms. Waldt the opportunity to observe police work close up.  This on- the- job education was invaluable in learning about criminal law and how police officers enforce the law.  In criminal defense work it is critical for a defense attorney to understand police work because a police officer will often be a primary witness against you.  When Cynthia Waldt defends you she understands that the role of police officers is an important factor in your case.  Cynthia Waldt’s specialized knowledge and experience ensures that you will have an effective defense attorney on your side.
